How far does your money go in Toronto?

big-macIf you’ll be living and working in Toronto, how far will your money go?

Or in more practical terms, how long do you have to work to earn a Big Mac?

Toronto’s purchasing power is tops among 73 cities surveyed in the Economist’sBig Mac Index,” which measures how long it takes an average worker to earn the price of a Big Mac.

In Toronto (and in similarly top-scoring Chicago and Tokyo), workers must labor only for 12 minutes to afford a Big Mac.

At the bottom of the list, workers in Mexico City, Jakarta, and Nairobi must work for more than two hours to earn their big burger.
