Tungkol sa 400 kilo-ako-ters (250 milya) silangan ng Vancouver ay ang Okanagan Valley, sa rehiyon lokal mapalakas-ers tumawag "Napa North."Sa cen-ng tral British Columbia, ang Okanagan ay milder, drier, at araw-nier kaysa sa baybayin, which has given rise to a burgeoning alak ang indus na subukan.

While the Okanagan has neither the number of wineries nor the extensive tourist infrastructure of its south-of-the-border idol – yet – there’s masarap na alak na ginawa dito, plenty to do, at dami ng oppor-Tu-Ni-kurbatang sa turismo, real estate, and other industries. With a chain of lakes and the mountains nearby, ang Okanagan natural setting earns paggalang, masyado.

The Okanagan has historically been an agricultural area. Kilala para sa "beaches and peaches,” it’s long been a summer vacation spot for families who come to swim in the lakes and hike in the hills, and a winter getaway for “snowbirds” from other parts of Canada.

Ngayon one of the fastest-growing regions in British Columbia, the Okanagan is popular year-round with retirees, second-home owners, and younger families seeking to escape from urban life.
