Those of you who are old enough to remember the Perry Mason Ipakita ang may know it as an iconic American detective program. This long-running TV series, starring Raymond Burr as the eponymous Los Angeles lawyer, aired mula sa 1957 sa 1966.

But you may be surprised to learn that Burr, who’s widely known as an Amerikano artista, was actually a Canadian. Raymond Burr ay ipinanganak sa 1917 sa New Westminster, British Columbia, outside of Vancouver.

Raymond Burr ay lamang na pinangalanan ang isa sa mga 2009 inductees sa Canada’s Walk of Fame, the Toronto version of the stars-on-the-sidewalk Hollywood Maglakad ng katanyagan.

This year’s other Canadian honorees include Toronto-born comedian Howie Mandel, singer-songwriter Tom Cochrane (ipinanganak sa Lynn Lake, Manitoba), and children’s book author Robert Munsch. Writer of such contemporary kids’ classics as Ang Princess Bag ng Papel at Mahalin mo Habang Panahon, Munsch is actually an American expat; siya ay ipinanganak sa Pittsburgh ngunit nanirahan karamihan ng kanyang mga adult na buhay sa Ontario.
