Einwanderungs-Anwalt David Cohen wurde ins Leben gerufen Loon Lounge, an online community for new and recent immigrants to Canada.
Wie die Website sagt, es ist “a place to meet people and learn about life in Canada and the Canadian immigration experience.” You can search for members by their home country, their occupation, and by their Canadian location or destination, and ask for advice about the process of relocating to Canada.
The Montreal-based Cohen also publishes the Canada Immigration Newsletter and blogs about immigration topics at CanadaVisa.com.
I am a British citizen and have lived in the USA for many years. My age is 63. I would love to retire to British Columbia, but it seems overwhelming to make this move on my own. Where would I start? I could afford a modest place to live in a nice neighborhood. What is Canada like for senior citizens? What exactly would I have to do for health care? Is there a cost involved in health care? Are there any contacts that I could e mail or phone to ask the many questions, other than these, that I would like answers to. The questions would be specific to my situation so frequently asked questions and answers may not work and would need to have back and forth conversation with someone on e mail or phone.
Currently, I live in Southern California and long for cooler weather and I understand that Canadians are very nice people and that it is beautiful there. Hope that I do not give up because it seems so difficult to make the move.
I would appreciate any input.
