Nuit Blanche: Sleepless in Toronto
Jet-lagged in Toronto? Or just want an intensive all-night introduction to the city’s art scene?
Then check out Scotiabank Nuit Blanche Toronto, a dusk-to-dawn celebration of contemporary art.
With 500 artists involved in more than 130 projects, the festivities begin this Saturday, October 3rd, at 6:55 pm and continue until sunrise the next morning.
To plan your night or find your way, check out the interactive tools on the Nuit Blanche website. Get a list of performers, events, and installations here.
During the night, you can also visit one of the four Nuit Blanche information centers:
- Yonge-Dundas Square: southeast corner of Yonge St. and Dundas St. East
- Union Station: 65 Front St., at Bay St., street level
- Scotia Plaza: 40 King St. West, enter from Adelaide St. and King St.
- Lamport Stadium: 1151 King St. West, south parking lot, enter from Liberty Street.
Last year, roughly a million people came out for Toronto’s Nuit Blanche. Organizers expect crowds to be at their peak between 8 pm and 1 am, so they’re advising night owls to head out after 1 and early risers to take to the streets between 5 and 7 am.
Better rest up now!
And if you won’t be in Toronto this weekend, mark your calendar for February 27, 2010, when Montreal will host its own all-night arts party, the Montreal All-Nighter.
